Barformer & Guillotine | ![]() |

The NID Barformer continuously forms ropes by a three roller system. It is not an extruder. The two top rollers push the material downwards on to the bottom solid 'Teflon' roller which has correctly sized grooves. The Ropes thus formed move with the rotation of the bottom roller, and at the lowest point, the Ropes exit the roller and flow on to the belt below, which is travelling at the same speed. The NID Barformer can also be set up as a Sheet former to feed the Barformer or the NID Nidomat. | ![]() |
| The NID Transport Conveyor takes the Ropes on to the Guillotine. The output end of this conveyor has a short section which accelerates the Bar away from the Guillotine blade. The NID Guillotine with it's unique elliptical blade action allows the blade to travel at rope speed whilst it cuts slowly and vertically through the Bar ropes. The blade is 'Teflon' coated and has a stripping facility. Additional equipment:

| The NID Nidomat is a more traditional Bar maker. Material is reduced through two or three pairs of sizing rollers before running through slitting knives which are set up to Bar width. After slitting the ropes are then spread by the NID Spreading Conveyor which parts the Ropes to enrobing width, before running through to the NID Guillotine for length cutting. The NID Nidomat is most suitable for making Bars containing a high percentage of fillings such as nuts and fruit, rice crispies etc, where the manufacturer demands the traditional cut look which exposes the filling of nuts etc. | |

![]() | Optional Features The NID Universal Depositor can be fitted with an optional PLC controlled Centre-in-Shell facility. This consists of a special pump with a pneumatically operated valve bar, a nozzle plate with concentric depositing nozzles, and an auxiliary hopper allowing the different centre and shell materials to be fed from separate main and auxiliary hoppers. The latest version of the NID Universal Depositor enables this special product to be made by both small and large manufacturers. The main and auxiliary hopper arrangement, with its side-by-side pump, allows the NID Universal Depositor to make four colour (or sometimes even more) simultaneous deposits, and also to produce two-colour side-by-side deposits. |
